Gifted Programs at Commonwealth ES
Commonwealth Elementary continually strives to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all our students. Our school offers two programs to meet the specific needs of our gifted, high achieving, and potentially gifted students:
Commonwealth Avenue Gifted Program (home school)
Students enrolled in the home school are clustered in classes with similar students meeting at least one of the following criteria:
- Identified eligible in at least 1 out of the 7 gifted categories
- Demonstrates high achievement or high ability in a specific area
- Highly exhibits the characteristics and/or traits of giftedness
- Undergoing screening and application process for gifted identification
Commonwealth Gifted/Highly Gifted/High Ability Arts & Technology Magnet Center
Students who wish to enroll in our Gifted Magnet (grades 2-5) center must apply for enrollment through the yearly Choices (Magnet) Application process. Students must be identified as Gifted or meet specific Gifted Criteria in order to apply.
